Alexandria Named Cleanest City In Louisiana

The Louisiana Garden Club Federation has named Alexandria as the Cleanest City in Louisiana.

Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Inc, past president Roxanne Champagne (front, left) and state chair Jean Gilstrap presented an award to David Gill, City of Alexandria Chief of staff and Public Works Director (center), and public works staff members from the Street Department, Sanitation Department, Code Enforcement and Recreation Department on Thursday for being the state winner in the Cleanest City Contest in Louisiana in Category I for 2023. Also on hand for the celebration were other members of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation.

“I’m so proud to do this because this the first time in quite some time that you all have won this and I’m so excited for you,” said Gilstrap.

“Without you guys none of this is possible,” she told the staff members standing behind them.
