High tunnels are polyethylene-covered structures used to cover plants to extend the growing season, allowing farmers to plant earlier or later in the season or year-round. Inglewood Farm plans to plant traditional vegetables such as tomatoes, beans, peppers and squash at first to extend their growing season. In the future, they plan to use the high tunnel to grow specialty crops such as ginger, turmeric and pineapples.
